A space of self-cultivation held in our home in the serene atmosphere of Miami's Pinecrest Village and other conscious spaces around the city. We hold both free and donation-based events that explore good honest ways of improving our experience and effectiveness in life. Join us for explorations of the Daoist Way of Tea, meditations, workshops, and educational sessions on various modern spiritual subjects. Growth is about knowing the "medicine you need."
The Way of Tea
In the ancient Daoist traditions of China, tea is a spiritual path. It serves as a meditation tool, a means of developing self-mastery or just a reason to gather with good friends. We love and explore all of these aspects. We facilitate Cha Dao tea ceremonies, serving rare consciously cultivated "living tea" in a meditative way. This is tea as the medicine it is meant to be - healing, inspiring and deeply calming. Through these ceremonies, along with general education, workshops, and casual conversation we wish to share this tradition of connection with ourselves, each other and nature.
Sit With Intention Series
Whether you believe it or not, our Chakra system determines the shape of our lives. Through short, impactful 45-minute sessions we explore each of our bodies centers of energy and intelligence in modern ways that are relevant to our lives. This is Modern OM's Sit With Intention series. Two nights a week we educate on each Chakra and explore fascinating new meditations and activities you can incorporate into your life to provide strength in your life wherever you need it.
Free Introduction to Meditation
Meditation doesn't have to be difficult. Or unsatisfying. Come join us for a free meditation in which you will be taught a simple, but powerful technique for deep relaxation, release, and inner cohesion. No experience with meditation is required. Come join a caring, inspired local community and learn a daily practice that can be taken into your busy life to bring about more energy, creativity, intelligence, compassion and calm.
Vedic Meditation Courses
First brought to the West in the 1960s by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and quickly becoming a keystone of the cultural revolution's "spiritual wing" (The Beatles famously wrote The White Album at Maharishi's Ashram in India). Regardless of this glamorous history, Vedic Meditation is a simple practice designed for everyday busy people. It is an ancient technique of the Shankaracharyas (India's "Kings of the Yogis"), tested and refined for thousands of years, and fully adapted to our modern needs.
The technique has been fine-tuned for maximum efficiency and ease, requiring just 20-minutes of practice twice daily. It releases lifetimes of accumulated stress from the nervous system, liberating our minds into new levels of energy, creativity, calm and general well-being. Learning takes just four 90-minute sessions and support from the teacher is provided for a lifetime.
